Overview:
Our client is a global healthcare leader seeking an Associate Director, Value & Access to join their team. The Associate Director, Value & Access partners with healthcare organizations and risk-bearing entities to communicate the clinical and economic value of pharmaceutical products. This role focuses on engaging executive-level stakeholders, developing value-based strategies, leveraging health economics and outcomes research, and supporting market access initiatives. Success in this position requires strong strategic thinking, financial acumen, customer engagement skills, and the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams in a complex healthcare environment.
Responsibilities:
- Engage executive-level stakeholders within risk-bearing organizations, health systems, and other healthcare entities to communicate product value.
- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with key decision-makers, including clinical, financial, and operational leaders.
- Demonstrate the clinical and economic value of pharmaceutical products using data-driven insights and customer-specific value propositions.
- Identify, profile, and prioritize target organizations based on market dynamics, business models, reimbursement structures, and growth opportunities.
- Assess healthcare payment models, reimbursement trends, and market developments to inform engagement strategies.
- Develop and execute customer engagement plans using market intelligence, internal insights, and external industry knowledge.
- Gather, analyze, and communicate customer insights, market trends, and competitive intelligence to internal stakeholders.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of value propositions, health economic analyses, budget impact models, and reimbursement strategies.
- Support the evaluation and evolution of market access and value-based engagement strategies.
- Partner with account management, pricing, contracting, marketing, medical, and other cross-functional teams to address customer needs.
- Develop and deliver training and educational programs for internal stakeholders.
- Identify customer reimbursement, access, and value-based care needs and align solutions accordingly.
- Adapt and optimize tools and resources to support healthcare system and organized customer engagement.
- Track key performance indicators and communicate outcomes to relevant stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Five or more years of experience in market access, payer engagement, health economics, outcomes research, or a related healthcare function
- Experience working with health systems, risk-bearing organizations, payers, or other organized healthcare customers
- Strong knowledge of commercial payer reimbursement models, value-based care, and risk-sharing arrangements
- Understanding of financial analysis, economic modeling, and healthcare market dynamics
- Experience building and managing customer and stakeholder relationships
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Ability to synthesize data from multiple sources and translate insights into actionable business recommendations
- Executive presence and the ability to effectively engage senior healthcare stakeholders
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively across functions, geographies, and organizational levels
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Commitment to compliance, teamwork, and professional development
- Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record
- Ability to travel up to 50%
- MBA or other advanced degree preferred
- Experience within the pharmaceutical industry preferred
- Knowledge of buy-and-bill reimbursement models preferred
- Executive-level customer engagement and leadership experience preferred
