Overview:

Our client, a global healthcare leader, is seeking a Senior Director, U.S. E-Commerce to join their team. The Senior Director, U.S. E-Commerce is a senior commercial leader responsible for defining and driving the strategy, growth, and performance of the company’s U.S. B2B e-commerce business. This role sits at the intersection of commercial strategy, customer experience, and digital capabilities, partnering closely with Digital, Marketing, Sales, and other functions to deliver measurable growth and strengthen customer relationships. The role serves as a strategic thought partner to senior leadership, co-owns the e-commerce roadmap with the Digital organization, and leads the commercial team accountable for e-commerce strategy, customer adoption, revenue growth, and business outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Own the U.S. B2B e-commerce strategy, vision, priorities, and multi-year roadmap to drive revenue, customer acquisition, retention, and growth.
  • Act as the commercial general manager for the e-commerce business, aligning digital priorities with customer and business needs.
  • Translate market trends, competitive dynamics, and customer insights into actionable strategies and investment priorities.
  • Identify new business models, market opportunities, and innovative digital channel strategies.
  • Develop strategies to increase customer engagement, retention, adoption, and lifetime value.
  • Optimize the end-to-end digital customer journey in partnership with Digital, Marketing, Customer Experience, and Sales.
  • Define and monitor KPIs for digital adoption, engagement, revenue, and retention; drive accountability for results.
  • Ensure e-commerce and sales channels work together to deliver a seamless omnichannel customer experience.
  • Monitor B2B e-commerce trends, competitive activity, and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for growth.
  • Lead a test-and-learn approach to evaluate and scale new commercial ideas.
  • Partner with Digital to co-own the platform roadmap, prioritize capabilities, and align business and technology plans.
  • Influence Digital priorities and resources through data, business cases, and strong stakeholder relationships.
  • Ensure commercial readiness and user acceptance testing for new e-commerce capabilities.
  • Lead, develop, and mentor a high-performing e-commerce team.
  • Build strong partnerships across Commercial, Digital, Marketing, Customer Experience, Legal, and Finance.
  • Represent e-commerce in senior leadership forums and communicate strategy, performance, and investment recommendations.
  • Partner with Finance and Commercial leadership on annual planning, investments, and performance management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in B2B e-commerce, digital commerce, digital marketing, or related commercial roles
  • Proven success driving digital channel growth, revenue, and business results
  • Experience in healthcare, life sciences, or other complex B2B or regulated industries preferred
  • Management consulting experience in strategy or commercial practices strongly preferred
  • Experience operating in matrixed organizations and influencing without direct authority
  • Strong B2B commercial, e-commerce, and digital product/roadmap expertise
  • Customer-focused and analytical, with strong business case and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to identify opportunities, navigate ambiguity, and drive innovation
  • Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams
  • Strong executive communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
